Our old Irish teacher in Marian College impressed me deeply with his conviction.
I remember the day in 1981 his face fell when i told him i was doing pass Irish for the leaving in order to make time for other subjects in which you could more easily gain points.
He loved Irish. I think he was from Connemara. God bless him.
One of his great mottos was:
“If you throw enough muck at a wall
then some of it is bound to stick”
So here goes with a few splats of my own muck…..
(His other great saying was: “How the mighty have fallen”)
